The Detroit Literacy Coalition (DLC) provides comprehensive, collaborative, lifelong literacy support to children and adults throughout Metro Detroit. Through research-based, data-driven, and community-centered initiatives, DLC strengthens literacy skills in reading, writing, math, technology, financial, health, food security awareness, and social justice.

DLC was founded in 1986 to create and benefit readers of all ages in Metro Detroit, MI.

We are located at 4445 West Outer Drive, 48221; on the west side of Detroit, however, our participants represent all of Metro Detroit.

No, we have services for Metro Detroit; however, some programs are limited to Detroit, Wayne County, or low-income families. You may qualify in other ways if you do not meet the above-mentioned criteria.

All contributions, big or small, are appreciated.

Detroit Literacy Coalition is a 501(c)(3) organization that is funded by grants and private contributions, which enables us to operate and provide meaningful literacy services.
