International Literacy Day will be celebrated on September 8 at the Detroit Public Library as part of a literacy alliance between the Detroit Public Library, Detroit Literacy Coalition, Arise Detroit and Proliteracy. Dick Gregory is the keynote speaker for the day, Monday, September 08.
Prof. Daphne Ntiri of Wayne State University's Africana Studies Department and the Director of the Detroit Literacy Coalition will speak on Wednesday September 10 on Literacy as a Social divide at the Wayne State University, 2339 FAB from 12:30 to 1:30pm. All are invited.
