Detroit Literacy Coalition selected Reading Works' adult literacy partner.

Reading Works is a new nonprofit in Detroit dedicated to raising the level of adult literacy in our community. On Sunday, October 2nd a mass media campaign will begin with a special section in Sunday’s Detroit Free Press and on WXYZ channel 7 to shine a spotlight on the work of 9 established literacy agencies in the Metro Detroit area.

With the support that Reading Works will bring, we hope to expand our resources and hours in order to reach more adult learners in need. Reading Works will open the door to new opportunities for our agency, our institutional partners  and our learners.

Please buy a copy of the Detroit Free Press and turn on Chuck Stokes “Spotlight on the News” at 9:30 a.m. Sunday October 2nd to hear more about this exciting initiative. Listen for continuing coverage about Reading Works on TV and radio throughout the week and coming year.
